Calling all cars, calling all cars…

I am calling on you guys today.
I need some guidance.
Some input.
Advice, even.
I have had some sweet enquiries about my photos and prints for sale.
And people have even placed some orders (gasp!).
So I have decided to add a couple more images to my list of options.
It’s really hard for me to choose though!
It’s like choosing your favourite kid.
And we all know that’s not ass-ceptible!
(Hands up all Super Nanny fans.)
So here are a couple that people have commented on, that are up for consideration.
This is Mr Incredible (SSB for longtime BB readers) riding in the rain.

But it could be anyone.
Could be the Man from Snowy River.
Except there’s no snow.
Or brumbies.
But you get the idea…
And this is another (very different) photo taken the very same day.

Gum leaves. Speckled with droplets of rain.
I don’t know why I like it.
But I do.
It’s the greenie in me.
(Jeanie, I can hear you say: Green Meanie. Stop it!)
And then there is THIS ONE…
taken on another day completely…

I dunno.

You reckon it’d sell?
So what do you reckon?
What should I include?
What’s your favourite photo?
Is it one of the above?
(Oh, and people, I AM KIDDING about the Violet photo. I would not inflict that on anyone! It was a lame joke. My sarcasm is one of my many bad points. Sorry.)
Do you like the horse bottom photo?
Or arty farty shots of leaves?
Or sunsets or mustering vistas?
Or something else completely?
What works for you… and why?
I really wanna know….
BB

I think they would all sell, but the first two would probably do the best.
People like the whole horse, boots, and spurs thing and you are right when you said it could be anyone.
The rainy leaves are another photo that anyone can identify with.
The b/w of the little girl is darling, but I don’t know how many people buy pictures of people they don’t know.
Just my two cents-that and 5 bucks will get you a small coffee at Starbucks
    Have a great day

My very favorite is the photo of the horse and dogs following the cattle in the rain. It’s a great shot…and really shows the ‘heart’ of the work.

  • Portia

I like the pictures of the horses and other animals (no reptiles please). My favorites are the landscapes and sunrise/sunset pictures. Your landscape is beautiful and so different than where I live that I enjoy those the most.

Thanks to you I was able to recognize a bottle tree in the Australia movie.

As to the picture of TLW, it sure is cute but I wouldn’t buy one because I can get attitude like that right here at home from my own blond chick.

I love the wet horse butt picture. The correct, comfortable leg of the rider, the rain soaked rear end, the breeze in the horse’s tail… You can FEEL the chill in the air, yet still understand there’s work to be done regardless of the weather.

And oh boy, I have so seen that cute but annoying sour face in our home lately! What a doll!

  • Wrensong Farm

I love all the ranching (horses, cattle, dogs, riders, family….) and Australian scenery of all types and angles….oh and all the Australian animals (including the reptiles!) does that narrow it down any. 🙂

  • Sabra

They are all wonderful, but he cowboy/horses rear is the best. Is that Violet? What a gorgeous child, I wouldn’t sell it for anything. Good luck in your endeavors.

  • Debby

That Violet is one cute little doll. Even when she’s mad.

I’m abstaining from the vote, because I can’t narrow it down. I like pictures because it triggers something. I can’t tell you what it is, exactly, but I know when I want one for my home. It’s not about the subject. It’s about what it evokes. How’s that for assistance?

  • Bush Babe

Much help guys (kinda!) … the horse one is going in. You know I was joking about the pic of Violet right? Man, I am nowhere near as funny as I think I am!!

Anything else … something that spoke to you?? Puppies maybe?? C’mon, I NEED YA…
    :-0

You know what else that would work?

Remember those prints of leaves you did when you were selling the little house?

I am sure there were prospects who would have walked away with those…

A few of those photos you took when you were touring Europe. Like the beautiful red series you gave me one year?

Oh, and definitely horizon shots from the top end of Granite Glen – the sky is so big up there.

  • A Novel Woman

I think I already told you this, but I go for the landscape and animal ones, those that really say “Australia” so clearly. The red road, the trees, the animals. Love ’em.

  • Andrea

I really love the landscape pictures. The land over there is so different and unique. I love the trees and the lay of the land.

I too like the wet butt picture!!

And do you see the add on your side bar? It says “Porn Woman, What’s this hunk saying to you?” Is that a serious ad? Maybe if the hunk was wearing a cowboy hat and riding a horse that had a wet butt, then I might click!! LOL!!!

And your little girl is simply adorable.

  • Gem

You just have to know that I want photos of old stuff!
Storms are good too! I have posted some storm shots over at my place. We have had some doosies lately.

  • Kate

I of course love the horse/leather/spur/rider pics. I’m so excited to get my montage!! But seriously…have you ever taken a bad shot? They are all just fantastic. And thank you for mentioning TMFSR again. I had a short little daydream about Jim. Ahhhh.

  • Bush Babe

Kate – your order is on its way to me as we speak… hang tight! I’ll post it once you have it in your hot little hands!

Gem – ahhhh. Old stuff. Of course. As yet untapped!! Thanks.

Andrea – what the? Seriously? Porn? I’d better check it out!! Gads… and your dry grass photo has been ordered too (better late than never, eh?)

Pam – ah, but would people want to BUY them? I’ll try a road pic and see how we go… oh, and I’ve got a special post for you coming up next!!

Jeanie – heavens. That’s a lot of scanning… but food for thought. Hmmmm.

    Thanks all!!!
    BB

PS Deb – enough with the abstaining already. It’s no darned good for you (or is that me?)

  • Diane L. Dodd

Spurs and scenic! I love the sunsets and trees and scenery- beautiful. I have always wanted to visit Australia and love your landscape pictures.
I love the one of Dash(?) petting the bull too.
And I know you were kidding about that shot of Violet but I love it. Have you ever thought of doing post cards or funny greeting cards? Because with the right caption I think the pic of Violet would make an adorable card.
You could have a line of cards with your candids (even the one of V with her shoes on the wrong feet!) with funny quotes or captions on them.
What a great idea! I need to do that too!
There is a greeting card line based in Charlotte, NC that I can’t get enough of called MikWright. http://www.mikwright.com/
You will totally appreciate their humor and might even get some ideas.
That my 2 cents for today 🙂

  • Bush Babe

Diane – thanks for sharing your brainwave with me! Sounds great (but time-consuming!). Am going to check out this site now.

    Hmmmmm….
    🙂

  • Pony Girl

I love the one of the horsey bottom, of course! 😉
I adore your horsey and cattle and cowboy pictures best, of course!
I LOVE the one of Violet too, and I get your humor! 😉
I am glad you are getting some good feedback on your prints! I am still looking for frames from mine! Hopefully after the holidays!
