All quiet on the western front

It’s about to get mega hectic here at Granite Glen.  I’m talking a fabulous combination of ‘visitors and bull buyers and schoolmates sleepovers and a few deadlines thrown in for good measure’ kind of hectic… and as you may know by now, that means things might get a tad quieter here on the blog.

And while I do worry about letting my couple of regular readers down during these kinds of ‘blog lulls’, I admit to being super selfish with this post.  Lord knows I might need something soothing to grab a glimpse of when the proverbial hits the rotors about 7pm tomorrow night.   You know, when we discover A) the beer’s not quite cool enough yet, B) the kids have let the Great Dane off the chain and he’s into the filet steaks, or C) my daughter is having a meltdown because she’s over-tired, over-excited and spaghetti bolognaise is not on the menu.  Or all of the above.

So I am indulging myself here in preparation…

Aaaahhh.  I can feel that doing me good, 22 hours before I’ll really need it.

Hommmmmmmm…

There.  Nothing a good fog and bottle tree sunset couldn’t fix!

(+ If anyone knows a good yoga position that doesn’t involve bending the right knee beyond 90 degrees, I’m all ears. And if that fails, there’s always chardonnay.  Don’t look surprised. You knew I was gonna say that!!!)

Sorry – I am now working with the mental image of associating knees and ears in a yoga pose…

Gorgeous shots – and tell Violet we had spaghetti bolognaise at our house tonight (although I mixed the spag with the sauce)…

Oh – and the one bottle of beer that we have had in the fridge for the last 3 years is still cold.

Cobra – lay on stomach, push torso off floor with hands until arms are fully extended.
    warrior – shallow ‘lunge’ position
mountain – stand up straight with arms up straight over head, palms touching.

    😉

But chardonnay would work too. (Put the beers in while you’re getting your glass…)

Goodness woman you are in for a crazy week. Good luck and don’t worry about your crazy readers, we understand 🙂 I’ve been lucky to get a post in every two weeks over at my place. Crazy busy times. Hope you have some fun during it all!

I know all about yogi. Didn’t he have a sidekick, Boo-boo? Pretty sure.

Someday I want to see what you look at every single day with my own two eyes. It’s one of those nice things to contemplate. I go into the spare bedroom and look at those wine glasses, and picture the day…

Ahhhhhhh! Thanks, I needed those calming views. Fog snuggled in the valley. Pink sky.

Helps a lot after an afternoon with twelve little girls climbing over each other to roast marshmallows over a campfire in our back yard. But they were truly not the problem. It was the concern that their moms would show up, need to use the bathroom, and thus wander through my sticky-floored kitchen with the smeared windows and dirty dishes.

Best wishes with your big event. It sounds like a good one! Wishing you plenty of help with the clean-up.

beeeuutifullll. Enjoy the peace before the onslaught of life. See you on the other side!

Oh, if it were me, I’d skip the yoga, and go for 1 glass of Chardonnay — 1/2 an hour before the guests arrive…. Just calms the nerves.

Just to keep my blog peeps updated – cause I KNOW you’ll be wondering – I went the chardonnay route. Shocking I know. Guests all fed, watered, hosed down and tucked in. Hostess has pruny hands but content with day’s activities. Stuffed. Night y’all!
    🙂
