And the (Novel) winners are…

Good morning crew!

The school holidays are drawing to a close but showing no sign of letting up in terms of pace and action out here at Granite Glen.  I looked back over our fortnight and realised we have had just ONE night sans visitors since they started – which is delightful socially, but hell on one’s sleep patterns and washing machine. And one’s children’s sense of routine.

On a note of great excitement, I can report that we have been let out of the (internet) Sin Bin overnight, with our broadband satelite connection being unshaped (shaping is where one’s provider slows down the connection to almost-non-existent when one’s download limit has been reached. Which mine was about mid-month. Things haven’t been pretty in the office the last couple of weeks, I can tell you!)

But you are not here to hear me whinge or celebrate my broadband connectivity. You are here to see who won the books in the great book giveaway

I was blown away by the number and quality of the entries for Fleur McDonald’s awesome novels Blue Skies and Red Dust. MAN, did we have some awesome entries.  I was kinda wishing that we were rewarding effort and originality, but I stuck to my original pledge to choose random winners and (with the help of my trusty friend, random. org) we have four winners.

I just love it when someone else does the hard work for me, don’t you?

Okay to correspond names from comments to our randomly generated numbers (I removed Fleur’s comments and a couple of Debby’s replies from the mix):

6 – Britt T (‘Men at Work’ devotee)

22 – Victoria (‘A Sunburnt Country’ fan)

34 – Jacey (Jack Long afficianado)

37 – Jeanie (Douglas Adams follower)

Thanks so much to everyone who entered – I adored reading through the entries!  (As did Fleur I believe!)  I will send your novels (Britt and Jacey will get Red Dust, Victoria and Jeanie, Blue Skies)

If winners could contact me with delivery details soon, I shall package up the books and send them on their way.  (It’s okay Jeanie – I probably know your address!)

Over and out.

🙂

PS Anyone who wants to get their hands on Fleur’s books should check out their local bookstore, and can also order them through Allen and Unwin (publishers) Angus and Robertson or Amazon.
