It never rains…

This blog post is not the only thing long-overdue here…

A proper bit of wet-stuff from above has been sadly missing for the past 12 months… despite much talk about the El Nino kicking in, storms have been dancing around the state all week.

Mostly avoiding us (and teasing us and dancing away again)…

A few millimetres here, a few there…

Storm clouds gathering, rolling, looming, then sliding off and raining on someone else’s farm..

Til Tuesday night, when we got 54mm in two falls.

Heaven-sent.

Literally.

The relief (although we knew it wasn’t drought-breaking) was palpable…

And then last night (Thursday) – again in two falls…

64mm… just divine.  So long-prayed for. So sweet. So gratefully received.

Then tonight – straight after our little school’s breakup day (yet to be blogged!)…

It started in properly…

We’ve almost forgotten what it feels like!

77mm in two hours. (That’s three inches in old language).

And more in closer to town.

We know some bridges in that way (about 40km away) are under already.

Is it possible to go directly from drought to flood?

Only the morning will tell!

Stay tuned…

😀
